Teddy Roosevelt had the worst Valentines day ever

I should have saved this post for Valentine's Day, but just think about this when February 14th rolls around. No matter how what happens in your love life on VD it can't be worse than what happened to poor Teddy for him to write "The light has gone out of my life" in his diary. His mother died of Typhoid on the same day that his wife died in childbirth, leaving him alone with his first child, a girl.
