The Adventures of Tin Tin!

The Belgian comic Tin Tin turns 80!!! Here's the link if you can read any of the crazy.

When I was little my dad would bring home Tin Tin books and read them to me before bed. I had a stuffed Snowy and grew up worshipping all the characters (especially Capt. Haddock, that minx). There has always been a fond place in my heart for the be-sweatered little adventurer and I recently bought some artwork that was made from the original covers of the comic book (see pic, I have the "Tintin Au Tibet" one). Also, I feel like Anderson Cooper is like the grown up version of Tin Tin (adoooorable).

Steven Spielberg has fought for a while now to get the rights (and the ridiculous billion dollar funding) for the 3-d trilogy to be directed with Peter Jackson. The 2010 release date is greatly anticipated by at least two people (read here: me and dad) and probably only two people. I just hope it's better than the Hannah-Barbara knockoff "Johnny Quest." What a hetero.
