I know why Joaquin is doing this...
Imagine if you went on David Letterman and he spent the entire interview making fun of how you look and what you want to do (even if you are just pretending) then you too would continue whatever crazy charade you were on, to prove a point. I just wish I had enough fame and money to do the same thing (even if i was just pretending). Teach those sheeple a lesson, Joaquin. Teach 'em good. Also, I'm pretty sure he is not on drugs because he is not on drugs. I've seen enough of Intervention and Paula Abdul on TV to know what people who do drugs on TV look like
